The best way to avoid the dreaded student loans, which students often spend an average of 20 years in debt, is to apply for scholarships or Scholarshipswhich is money that students do not have to repay, and is used to pay for college-related expenses.

Many organizations and private companies offer scholarships to Latino students to ease the financial burden and supplement other types of aid such as federal student loans and grants. Some scholarships go so far as to pay all college expenses.

Sally May Fund Foundation Scholarships

Sally May, a diverse group of financial experts, innovators, and technology experts, sponsors scholarships through her Foundation, a charitable organization that provides financial aid to those who demonstrate financial need. The amount ranges from $500 to $5,000.

  • The First in My Family Scholarship Program is aimed at Hispanic applicants and US citizens or permanent residents of the United States, including Puerto Ricans, who are the first in their family to earn an associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Additionally, students can apply for more than $2 million in scholarships through the Sallie Mae Fund through programs such as the Unmet Needs Scholarship and the American Dream Scholarship, developed in partnership with the United Negro Fund College Fund, African American Students.
  • The 911 Education Fund Program is a fund created to educate the children of people who were killed or permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Goldman Sachs MBA Scholarship

This scholarship is for Hispanic/Latino, Black, or Native American MBA students or MBA student seeking a summer associate position at Goldman Sachs this year. The Financial Award Program scholarship consists of an award of $35,000, plus the corresponding stipend for the summer job. Upon completion of an internship or training, and joining the company full-time, scholarship recipients receive an additional $40,000 and any of the job-related bonuses offered by the company.

LULAC National Endowment Fund (LNSF)

LNSF scholarships not only take into account grades and academic performance but also emphasize the motivation, dedication and integrity of an individual through an in-person interview.

Hispanic applicants must be US citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

ABA Diversity Scholarship

The American Bus Association offers a diversified grant that focuses on increasing the number of groups traditionally underrepresented in the management and operating ranks of the transportation, travel, and tourism sector.

College freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduates majoring in the travel and tourism industry are eligible for these scholarships. The scholarship is worth $5,000 and you can apply until April 2, 2022.

Hispanic Empowerment Scholarship Without Essay

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Scholarships
