They are seeking scholarships for children of firefighters and rescuers

Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. – During the session prior to Cabildo held yesterday, Chancellor Amparo Beltran Ceballos presented a project whereby the Education Directorate would integrate children of the Fire Department and Rescue Department personnel into the school grant program.

According to the councilor, those who work in this unit do not have this advantage, and on the other hand, the municipality’s Public Security and Road Safety Coordination Secretariat employees have it.

“There are 258 items, whose daughters or sons would be the beneficiaries of this proposal,” Beltran-Ceballos said. However, he declined to comment on the number of girls and boys benefiting, as that would limit the number of scholarships to be awarded to the Fire and Rescue Department.

Chancellor Vanessa Mora de la requested the addition of the draft agreement as a condition that neither the school average nor the salary received by the items of these firms be taken into account, as this precluded the use of scholarships.

In the same sense, said Chancellor Carla Escalante Ramirez, who emphasized that in the two scholarship awards this administration has received, civil protection has been taken into account, but due to the above requirements, scholarships cannot be awarded.

“In the first issue there were 52 scholarships, and in the second issue there were 47 scholarships. The only problem that occurs at this time regarding the issuance of scholarships is that not everyone got them. In fact, they were sent, out of the 99 that were distributed, Sending ballots to civil protection but not all of them are practiced because not all of them fall within that range in terms of salary coverage and average requirements,” he emphasized.

For his part, Beltran Ceballos noted that the project is not thinking of modifying the requirements, but rather to provide this feature to the municipal firefighters and rescuers. Finally, Chancellor of Austria Galindo Rodriguez confirmed that the Education Committee had already analyzed the withdrawal of the average subject from the scholarship application.

“The meaning of these scholarships is not a matter of academic achievement, it is scholarships, as expressed by the Director of Education, of equity, for the sake of which she instructed us to review all the rules of operation of the said program at the time. To apply or propose corresponding modifications,” said Galindo Rodriguez.

Another point touched upon is the proposal of Councilman Victor Manuel Talamantes Vázquez, through which he seeks to urge the Governor of Chihuahua, Maria Eugenia Campos Galván, and the State Council to “implement various measures relating to the cost of laws issued by the Directorate General of Civil Registry.”

The consultant explained that in the process of digitizing the various works of the civil registry, errors in transcription were made by the employees or the company that was responsible for this procedure.

The current problem that this error or omission is caused by the authorities themselves or the responsible company, is that the citizen charges about 260 pesos for correcting the errors. “If the error is of origin, it should be charged as it should, but if it is due to an error by the state itself, during the digitization process, citizens do not have to pay this cost,” Talamantes Vásquez said.

During the session, four issues of the Municipal Land Disposal Review Committee were discussed; The former seeks to authorize a loan contract with the Supreme Court of Justice or with the Judicial Council of the State of Chihuahua, in relation to a movable municipal asset of 2,552,052 square meters formerly occupied by the Queiroz Clinic and the Governmental Directorate..

The objective of the second opinion is to cancel the unjustified transfer of municipal ownership of 6,332.19 square meters in favor of the Down AC Development Institute since the organization has not complied with the agreements stipulated in the contract approved in Cabildo held on June 19, 2015.
