Highschool Benito Juarez from Chicagowhich has a population of 99 percent Hispanic, has surprised its students with scholarships that cover college tuition, room and board and even books.

It was on Tuesday morning when it was announced that it would undoubtedly change lives in Benito Juarez Community Academy.

Hope Chicago awards full undergraduate scholarships to the entire student body, which consists of approximately 1,700 students, and a parent or guardian for each student.

This is the first in a series of five surprise scholarship announcements to be announced for secondary schools in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

The other four schools have not been announced, but Hope Chicago announced in a statement that the total number of students will reach about 4,000, not including their adult family members who will also benefit.

Where can scholarship recipients study?

The scholarship is awarded to one of the 20 colleges, universities and trade schools that have agreed to participate in this program. Tuition, room and board, and other expenses will be paid so that students can graduate without debt and begin their careers.
