The application period for the scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023 is open | the society

On Wednesday, May 12, the Ministry of Education opened the application period for scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year for baccalaureate, vocational training, undergraduate and master’s degrees.

With this new deadline, which precedes other courses, according to the Ministries of Vocational Education and Training and Universities, students will be able to find out if and how much they meet the requirements for the scholarship before classes begin.

They also recommend students to apply for the scholarship anyway, even if today they don’t know what they will study next year.

Although they will be able to make changes to studies in September, both ministries suggest selecting those that the student considers “likely”.

The educational aid will amount to 2,134 million euros, nearly 100 million more than last year, and will be distributed to nearly one million students.

University aid

Undergraduate scholarships have a fixed part and a variable part.

In the fixed part, up to 3,425 Euros can be awarded, of which 1,700 Euros for family income, 1,600 Euros for a change of residence during the course and between 50 and 125 Euros for academic excellence, to which a scholarship is added to the amount of credits issued for the first time.

The Ministry of Education warns that the scholarship covers only the minimum required credits, and in the case of studying at a private university, the aid will be committed to the rate set by each Autonomous Community.

As for the variable amount, the ministry will distribute €2,134 million through a “arithmetic distribution formula” that weighs the average file score and household income for the individual.

This amount will be a minimum (€60) if you are enrolled between 30 and 59 credits, are only studying an end-of-degree project or an end-Masters project or are studying university access for those over 25 years old.

Assistance for undergraduate degree students also includes those over 25 years of age studying in university entry courses at public centres, bachelor’s and master’s students from defense and civil guard centers and those taking supplemental credits towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Of course, scholarships will not be awarded to students of specialized studies, undergraduate degrees and third-cycle studies, or doctoral students.

Assistance for veterinary students, baccalaureate courses and other non-university courses

Students of Baccalaureate, Vocational Training (FP), FP Access courses, Technical Education, Languages in Public Schools, Sports Education, and Higher Religious Studies can also apply for a scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The fixed financial aid for these students is the same as for university students, except that the registration assistance is exchanged for a basic grant of 300 euros (350 for basic degrees).

The variable amount will be negligible in the case of students from the official school of languages and basic vocational training.

The call for grants for educational support for persons with disabilities, conduct disorder, and autistic appearance and talent disorder has not been published.
