Registration for scholarships for athletes and coaches is still open

The Directorate of Communications reported yesterday that registration for scholarships for high-performance athletes and coaches 2022 (Decree 4518) will open until April 20.
It is worth noting that the grant is understood as a financial contribution to be made by the municipality in accordance with the terms of the aforementioned decree (4518).

The same amount would be equivalent to 25% of what an Olympic medalist earns nationally, according to the current schedule for the Minister of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation for the Nation. The said amount will come from a special item approved by the Executive. In the case of athletes with a disability, they must submit a CUD (Unique Certificate of Disability).

Awarded to young athletes, young adults, and seniors who are at least 12 years old and not more than 25 years old. Up to 10 scholarships will be awarded annually. Also for coaches over the age of 21 who, by title, ensure their suitability for the job. In the event that the number of scholarships awarded to those awarded is exceeded, a record of the alternatives may be formed which will be used in the event that any scholarship awarded is withdrawn.

All athletes and/or coaches who practice individual and team sports recognized as such sports, whether or not they participate in the Olympic Games, may aspire to benefit from this scholarship.

It should be noted that this sports scholarship program is an intervention tool by the Ministry of Social Development through the Directorate of Sports to support outstanding athletes and coaches in the city, in order to cooperate in their preparation for regional, regional, national and national competitions. international level;
