Meta (formerly Facebook), in alliance with the Organization of American States (OAS), will train more than 10,000 Latin American professionals with free online courses on augmented reality (AR).
The courses will start in January 2022 and will seek to develop skills in the use of augmented reality over the next three years. It will be divided into three levels of knowledge, from basic to advanced, to support both emerging and more experienced creators: Spark AR Basics Course, Spark AR Basics, and Spark AR Pro Course.
Announced during the OAS Transformative Technologies Youth Academy event, the initiative represents the first investment of the Research Fund and XR Programs for 50 million dollars that will be used for build metaverse responsibly.

OAS will work with Meta to expand Spark AR training in Latin America and the Caribbean to a wide range of audiences including youth, women, rural and indigenous communities, among others.
How to register for augmented reality courses?
The initiative will offer Spark AR courses in Spanish, Portuguese and English, and will include the participation of local creators.
Creators who complete all modules and pass the exam will receive a file Spark AR شهادة Certificate, which will validate your knowledge and skills. Also, it will give them access to the Facebook Certification Professional Network, which is a job search platform that includes companies looking for qualified talent.
As the metaverse develops in the coming years, Meta said in a statement that it will open up opportunities for new jobs.
