Imperial Valley Mana Offers Scholarships for Latino Students | front valley

EL CENTRO – MANA of Imperial Valley, a local chapter of a national Latin organization, offers competitive undergraduate and college scholarships to Imperial Valley High School seniors and Imperial Valley College students.

A private company recently awarded a grant of $10,000 to Imperial Valley MANA for the organization’s college scholarship program.

The scholarship will support the payment of scholarships to university students, and provide each of them with financial support to cover tuition, books, accommodation and other expenses.

Scholarships will be awarded to students selected by the Imperial Valley Mana Branch.

Applications are available at http://www.ivmana.org/scholarships.html and on local high school websites.

The deadline for submission of completed applications is Friday 15 April 2022.

Imperial Valley Mana President, Rocio Ramirez, said, “Imperial Valley Mana is committed to supporting students in furthering their education and recognizing outstanding students in our community. We strongly encourage local students to apply for a scholarship.”

MANA offers three different categories of scholarships: an undergraduate scholarship, an EOP transfer scholarship, and an Elsa Downs Nursing Scholarship.

The University Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for local high school graduates.

The EOP Transfer Scholarship is offered to an Imperial Valley College Equal Opportunity Program student who has completed the requirements for transfer to an accredited four-year US institution, while the Elsa Downs Scholarship is offered to an Imperial Valley student preparing for a career in nursing.
