Toyota Argentina has announced the appointment of Gustavo Salinas as the new president of the local branch, effective May 2.

Salinas joined Toyota in 1996 and after holding various management positions in Argentina, Brazil and Japan, to date he is Toyota’s Regional Commercial Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, a position he holds at the same time.

In addition to giving continuity to the sustainable business project that the company has developed over the past 25 years in the country, Salinas will face the challenge of leading the process of transforming Toyota Argentina into a mobility services company and introducing new environmentally friendly technologies.

Daniel Herrero is retiring from the company after 12 years of driving A robust process of investment and job creation in local operations, which allowed Toyota Argentina to lead in production, sales and exports in 2021 for the first time in its history. Daniel also led the development of vehicles under the global GAZOO Racing brand and the launch of Toyota MobilityServices (today KINTO), the region’s leading mobility services platform, among other achievements.

However, Herrero will continue to be associated with the Japanese brand as Toyota Plan Leader and GAZOO Racing’s activities coordinator.
