In this context, Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, is launching 1,000 Santander Languages Scholarships “English to Enhance Your Career – University of Pennsylvania” with the goal of promoting professional English for those interested in advancing their careers and improving their employability.
Who can receive them?
Scholarships targeting thousands of people are aimed at people over the age of 18, non-native speakers of English, citizens or residents of 13 countries such as Peru, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, USA, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom and Uruguay, with a minimum B1 of English.
The call was launched in cooperation with the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions: a member of the Ivy League – the most connected network of American universities – and a regular in the “Top 20” of the world’s best universities, according to rankings such as THE (Times Higher Education) or QS.

Three courses based on professional goals
English for career development. Designed to help participants learn to face selection and interview processes in English, thus increasing their employability opportunities. In addition, it will give your students the opportunity to explore the career path they would like to pursue while improving their vocabulary and English language skills.
English for Business and Entrepreneurship. For those interested in business and the global economy. Participants will learn English specifically designed to analyze market research, write business plans, attract investor attention and financial support, as well as explore global entrepreneurial practices.

English for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Participants will learn to use the language of cause and effect in English, write research strategies, and analyze empirical data. In addition, they will use issues related to climate change as a case of using technical scientific language.
The course, 100% online, will be carried out through UPenn’s online training platform and will offer individual activities (tests on articles and videos, knowledge through games or making your own recordings as practical exercises) as well as group activities in real time (talks, comments, questions with teachers and classmates about the tasks being performed, which, on occasion, will be directed by internationally renowned specialists).
