Colfuturo compares programs proposed by candidates. To do this, it uses international lists of top universities and programs, high-quality accreditation reports, and other factors such as research strength, academic level, and funding from government and international agencies.

Other criteria for selection are undergraduate GPA (37%), essay grade (5%), and adjustment factor (20%). This last criterion, which is used only if it benefits the candidate, takes into account the position held in the undergraduate program, distinctions and certificates, outstanding results in Saber Pro exams, and whether they have already been accepted into the university.

Between January and February, to help candidates, Colfuturo will give weekly talks covering everything from how to fill out the form, to how to budget for a study and will answer all participants’ concerns. Tables can be referenced in the calendar.

According to an impact assessment of the scholarship program conducted by the Universidade de los Andes and CNC, earning a graduate degree with Colfuturo represents 47.6% of the recipient’s annual work income from those who were not in the program. This is due, among other factors, to the fact that recipients were able to access programs with greater academic excellence and more years of graduate study than those who did not benefit from PCB.

The mission of the Foundation is to contribute to the development of the country by providing postgraduate training opportunities for Colombian professionals through a sustainable long-term program. This is possible thanks to the support of the State, through the Minciencias, the generous donations of the main businessmen of the country and the wise fulfillment of the recipients of their obligation to return the part of the support that does not turn into a scholarship”, Jerónimo Castro.
