The alliance between Mercado Libre, Globant and Digital House has announced the launch of 400 scholarships for Colombian youth interested in expanding their knowledge of programming.
Mercado Libre, Globant and Digital House will give selected Colombian youth the opportunity to receive a scholarship covering 50% of the value of the first year of the degree.
This initiative is part of the programme Certified Technical Developerwhich already has more than 3,200 students.
The aim of this initiative is that young people in the country, both men and women, can be trained in basic digital knowledge and skills to facilitate their employment in any industry.
The promoters of these grants noted that “Certified Technical Developer is a study program designed and engineered by Mercado Libre and Globant along with Digital House, for a duration of approximately two years, where you will learn technical knowledge and a series of essential core skills to find a job in the most disruptive companies in the world“.
It should be remembered that the deadline to apply for the vacant positions will be enabled until the end of April, while the shortlisted will start doing their virtual studies from May 9 this year.
Entities state that those interested must pass the admission process and pay $350,000 to be able to reserve their place.
This was mentioned by Fabiano Matos, general manager of Oracle Colombia and Ecuador, in a recent statement. “We want 3,000 people to acquire essential skills to be ready for the world of work and expand their careers in technology.”
Similarly, the organization states that the main topics of the ONE training program will be programming logic, front-end, Java and entrepreneurship. Students who complete the course will have access to employment possibilities with corporate allies.
